US Immigration Attorney Frank Symphorien SaavedraF. Symphorien Saavedra is a native of Venezuela. He focuses his practice strictly on Immigration and Nationality Law matters.

Mr. Symphorien emigrated from Venezuela to the United States at 11 years of age. Mr. Symphorien’s father staunchly believed in America’s promise of opportunity for his children, and he worked 24 hour shifts as a cab driver, with many other hard-working immigrant’s, for month’s in New York City to bring his children and wife to the United States.

After entering the United States, Mr. Symphorien was placed advanced classes in English in a matter of months. He won multiple scholarships and attended the University of South Florida (USF), a first in his family. While still in school, Mr. Symphorien decided to help immigrants like his father fulfill their dreams of coming to America by working as a research assistant in a full service Immigration and Nationality Law firm in Tampa.

After graduating with high honors from USF, Mr. Symphorien was admitted to The Florida State College of Law, a nationally recognized law school. Mr. Symphorien excelled in law school while focusing his studies on Asylum and Refugee law, International Law, and as an editor of the FSU Journal of Transnational Law and Policy.

Mr. Symphorien also served as a law clerk for the Orlando Immigration Court. In this role, Mr. Symphorien wrote draft decisions for the Honorable United States Immigration Judges, Rafael Ortiz-Segura, Earl B. Wilson, and Victoria Ghartey.

Mr. Symphorien’s background in international law, as an immigrant, and legal education has allowed him to tackle some of the most complex areas of immigration and nationality law.

In his practice, Mr. Symphorien regularly assists client’s in fighting deportation/removal charges in Immigration Court based on criminal convictions or other alleged conduct. Mr. Symphorien also regularly helps clients obtain lawful permanent residence (greencards) and non-immigrant visas through the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). He further provides legal counsel on the Department of State consular process at embassies throughout the world. Mr. Symphorien also processes employment visas and family petitions. In addition, he represents clients during USCIS naturalization or greencard interviews.

Because immigration cases may sometimes get bogged down for years in USCIS’s administrative process, Nejame Law maintains an active immigration federal litigation practices in the state of Florida. As an active participant in this practice, Mr. Symphorien litigates cases in the U.S. District Court for client’s seeking a court order requiring that their case be actively processed.

As another element of the firm’s active litigation practice, Mr. Symphorien regularly challenges legal errors committed during immigration hearings by drafting appellate briefs and petitions for review before the Board of Immigration Appeals, and the United States Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.

Finally, Mr. Symphorien’s employment based immigration practice works closely with businesses to steer them in complying with immigration laws, obtaining the appropriate personnel, and achieving business objectives.

Outside of his legal practice, Mr. Symphorien is actively involved with the Hispanic Bar Association of Central Florida (HBACF) and the American Immigration Lawyers Association(HBACF), Central Florida Chapter. He currently serves as the AILACF liason for the Customs and Border Patrol agency and as the public relations chair for HBACF. Mr. Symphorien has further volunteered with Community Legal Service of Central Florida, a free legal aid provider in Central Florida.
