Toby Unwin, Honorary Consul for the Republic
of Austria in the United States, for Central and Northeast Florida, is an
International Immigration Consultant to the Firm. Appointed by
the Austrian Ambassador to the United States, Mr. Unwin’s background, position
and knowledge of international matters provides immense value to the Firm’s lawyers,
especially as to European clients.
Born and raised in the United Kingdom, Mr. Unwin emigrated from England to the
United States. He uses his diplomatic status to assist Austrian citizens and other
citizens of the European Union, throughout Central and Northeast Florida. If an
Austrian citizen is a victim of a crime, has serious health issues, or has been
arrested for a crime, the Honorary Consul serves as a liaison for them with
the Austrian government. Mr. Unwin organizes and supervises the voting process which
allows Austrian citizens to vote locally for elections in Austria. Mr. Unwin also
arranges Austrian Diplomatic events in Central Florida and can assist
any citizen of the European Union in obtaining an emergency passport.
In 2006, Mr. Unwin was unanimously appointed and selected as Chancellor of the
Consular Corps College by all the Consuls in the Corps College, which is the association of all
the Honorary Consuls in the United States. As a Chancellor, he serves as one of only fifteen
Directors. This esteemed position allows Mr. Unwin the access, contacts and ability
to communicate with essentially every other Honorary Consulate throughout
the entire United States. Since the Firm handles immigration cases throughout
the United States, Mr. Unwin’s position and contacts provides a unique and
opportunity for NeJame, LaFay, Jancha, Ahmed, Barker, Joshi and Bartolone, P.A. to better serve
its clients.
Aside from his diplomatic work, Mr. Unwin has authored three books, including
a best seller, and holds seven patents. Mr. Unwin is also a successful businessman
and entrepreneur, having multiple business interests and being the founder of an enormously
profitable internet company in England. He is also a Consultant to a United Nations
Affiliate. Additionally, Mr. Unwin serves on several boards, including the Maximum
Life Medical Research Board, the Central Florida Ballet Board and the Board of the Citizens
Corp Council, which oversees emergency situations occurring in Central Florida.
Mr.
Unwin is proficient in five languages which include German, French, Spanish, Portuguese
and English.
