Honorary Consul for the Netherlands
Peter Groenendijk is the Honorary Consul
for the Netherlands for Central and North Florida. He was born and raised in the Netherlands
and now resides in Central Florida. He has joined the Law Offices of NeJame, LaFay,
Jancha, Ahmed, Barker, Joshi and Bartolone, P.A. as an International Consultant.
After obtaining his university degree in Economics, Mr. Groenendijk worked for
over 12 years for a multi-national company in various countries within Latin America.
Though initially hired as a Financial Controller, his reputation as the “trouble shooter” and “go
to” person within the international group led to his promotion to General Manager. After
several years in Latin America, he decided to further expand his business career and in 1991, he relocated
to Central Florida.
Mr. Groenendijk, having developed a wide range of international contacts with connections
in Western Europe, Argentina, El Salvador, Aruba and Puerto Rico, expanded his
international business career by conducting business between the various countries and
territories and Florida. Having investments in both Orlando and Miami he increased
his participation to include international trade and organizing “Oranjedorp” during
the World Cup games in Orlando. In 1995 he teamed with Chris Matser of the Van der Valk
Group in The Netherlands. In 1999, a full fledged partnership developed with the Van
der Valk Group and their real estate development business expanded into a multi faceted full
service conglomeration of companies to support the varying needs of their international
clientele. Mr. Groenendijk was primarily responsible for the handling and oversight of the
fiscal, accounting and financial matters of these companies, as well as those of their
international clients.
When previously living in El Salvador, Mr. Groenendijk served his homeland, the
Netherlands, in the capacity of Vice-Consul to the Netherlands. He was presented another
opportunity for service, when in September 2005, he was appointed as the Honorary Consul of
The Netherlands for Central Florida, which covers 22 Central Florida counties. This
provided him the opportunity to assist not only those from the Netherlands, but also
individuals from the European Union (EU). With his extensive involvement in international
communities and his vast business expertise, Consul Groenendijk provides invaluable
assistance to the Firm when advising its international immigration clientele on matters
such as business, investments and finance.
Consul Groenendijk is fluent in English, Dutch, Spanish and is proficient in German and French as well.
