Mr. NeJame is a native of Orlando, Florida.
He has been involved in legal, civic, charitable, and political activities for over twenty-five
years. With his vast array of contacts and his wealth of experience in both
law and business, Mr. NeJame takes great pride in providing his clients with an
innovative, pragmatic and successful solution to their problems.
Mr. NeJame received his Bachelor’s
Degree in 1976, and his Juris Doctorate Degree in 1980, both from the University of Florida.
He was an entrepreneur in college and law school, having opened several businesses. In
law school, he was elected President of the University of Florida Moot Court Team,
an honor bestowed to only those among the elite of law school speakers.
Upon graduation, Mark NeJame returned to his home and family in Orlando and
embarked upon his legal career. He was admitted to multiple courts, both
State and Federal, and soon applied his strong work ethic and tenacious representation
towards working as a tireless advocate on behalf of his clients. Sought
after throughout the county, state and country, Mr. NeJame has represented
clients and practiced law in multiple counties throughout Florida, in addition
to having handled cases in multiple states throughout the country, as well
as in the Caribbean.
Having been involved in literally thousands of cases, Mark NeJame has handled
virtually every type of criminal case. From the routine to the most complex,
whether state or federal, blue collar or white collar, Mr. NeJame has developed
his practice by a creative, proactive, ethical, intellectual, and strategic approach
to his cases. Often utilizing a team approach to cases, Mr. NeJame and
the other attorneys of the Firm, often assist each other in developing motions, laying out strategies,
preparing for trial or evaluating legal and strategic options.
Mark NeJame has been honored with multiple awards and noted for his many achievements.
He is AV rated, the highest possible rating conferred by Martindale
Hubbell, the nation’s leading lawyer publication. Moreover, he has
been continuously acknowledged in the Bar Register of Pre-eminent Lawyers,
the premier directory recognizing but a small percentage of the premier lawyers
in the United States.
In addition, Mr. NeJame has served on multiple organizations and committees,
including President of the Central Florida Criminal Defense Association, the County
Mayor’s Blue Panel Jail Oversight Committee, and the City Mayor’s
Downtown Strategic Development Team. Mr. NeJame has been featured on multiple
news stations, profiled extensively in a variety of newspapers and magazines, and has been
regularly listed in Central Florida’s “ Most Powerful”. Hundreds of his
cases have been covered by news organizations, where he has been referred to as “The Johnny
Cochran of Orlando” and “The Voice for the Voiceless.”
Mark NeJame, dedicated to protecting the constitutional rights of others,
has fought countless incidents on behalf of individuals who were falsely arrested
or accused, and has been involved in an endless array of cases where others had been
unfairly charged, targeted, or treated. Racial profiling, addiction or abuse
issues, illegal stops, searches, and seizures, overzealous prosecution or
questionable investigations, are but a few of the range of issues which have
been identified and challenged by Mr. NeJame through his career. Although
most of the Firm’s clients are regular people facing life changing
altering challenges, Mr. NeJame’s clients have included individuals from all walks of life
including politicians, judges, state and federal prosecutors, celebrities,
professional athletes, top law enforcement officials, business
owners and corporate officers.
After the horrific tragedy of September 11th, 2001, Mr. NeJame, long established
as a civil rights activist and vigorous supporter of the United States Constitution,
found himself in the midst of a national dilemma. With the real threat of domestic terrorism,
also came a real new threat to our civil liberties and freedoms. Representing
a large number of individuals from a variety of religions, ethnicities,
cultures and countries, Mr. NeJame commenced representing numerous innocent
individuals who suddenly found their liberties being challenged and their rights being
threatened. Immigration matters became paramount and the Firm started
handling many immigration related matters. Having lectured to hundreds of Federal Bureau of
Investigation (FBI) agents in San Antonio, Texas, regarding law enforcement and
their relationship with ethnic communities, to working with the Florida Department of Law
Enforcement (FDLE) and regional law enforcement to prevent profiling
and civil rights abuses, Mr. NeJame came to understand the very genuine need
for the creation of a strong, knowledgeable and talented Immigration Division for
the Firm. He approached this charge with the same commitment to excellence and vigorous
representation which the Firm had already established. He sought out an amazing team to
efficiently, honestly and competently handle the tremendous challenges, inequities,
delays, backlogs, and evolving laws which define immigration in America today. Whether
it is any one of a variety of types of visas, deportation, asylum, corporate
compliance or any other business related issue, it is imperative that every client receive
the respect, attention and answers they are entitled to and deserve.
